Adobe touts updated Content-Aware technology for Photoshop CS6
In a recent video, Photoshop Senior Product Manager Bryan O'Neil Hughes showed off Adobe's latest "Content-Aware" technology that will be available in the upcoming release of CS6. The demonstration makes moving and removing objects appear seamless and effortless. However, I won't be getting my hopes up about actually putting any of these features to good use, as my past experience with some of the "latest and greatest" Photoshop features has proven that these demonstrations rarely mirror real-world conditions.
Adobe releases Photoshop CS6 sneak peek video
Adobe has released a sneak peek video showcasing some of the new Camera Raw features that will be available in Photoshop CS6, which is due to be released later this year. The new controls will feature sliders for both Highlights and Shadows, as well as an improved Clarity algorithm. Also addressed in the video is rich cursor support which gives the viewer more information about brush settings right on the cursor.

GTP Designs recently launched a new website for a business offering guitar lessons in Blacksburg, VA. EC Music and Guitars, LLC offers guitar lessons to students of all abilities and experience levels.
Wacom Inkling lets you transfer from paper to vector
Wacom's Inkling device looks like it could potentially remove the step of having to scan in sketches to then be traced or re-dawn with a tablet, for those who practice this method.
Lytro announces Light Field camera
Lytro™ recently unveiled a new online campaign for its Light Field camera, which uses a "light field sensor" to record vector direction of light rays. Traditional camera sensors don't record the vector direction of light rays. So, what's the advantage of capturing the direction of the light rays? Well, according to Lytro™, this technology allows for focusing to take place AFTER a photo is captured.
Google introduces Search by Image feature
Google recently introduced a new feature to Google Images that allows users to do a search based on an actual image rather than a string of keywords. The new feature allows searches based on images to be done either by drag-and-dropping online images or by select images on your local machine. Results from the Search by Image feature include:
- Page results based on Google's "best guess" of the content contained in the image
- A list of visually similar images
- Pages that include matching images
