GTP Designs is the freelance graphic design portfolio of George Probst (that’s me). Located in Blacksburg, Virginia, GTP Designs serves clients both locally and throughout the U.S.

Unique clients deserve unique design solutions

I strongly believe that every client has something unique to offer. Consequently, my goal is to create designs that reflect the individual qualities of every client that I work with. I work directly with clients to not only achieve designs that are representative of the clients themselves but will also be well-received by the intended audiences.

Professional experience and educational background

My four years of experience as a freelancer include the design of websites, logos, and marketing documents, including brochures, business cards, and letterhead. Additionally, I have provided artwork for t-shirt designs, posters, and other promotional items. Along with my design work, I also have over 10 years of professional experience with digital image editing.

I earned my B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and my M.S. in the Human Factors Engineering option of ISE (both from Virginia Tech).

A little bit more about George Probst

I am an engineer turned designer. I spent a bulk of my early career employed at an engineering consulting firm, where I began taking on many tasks outside of the realm of traditional engineering, including graphic design projects.

Upon realizing that the graphic design aspects of my engineering career resulted in the greatest job satisfaction, I eventually decided to switch over to graphic design full-time. I have been working as a freelance designer, since the beginning of 2007.

When I’m not working, I enjoy running, lifting weights, SCUBA diving (preferably with sharks), music, wildlife photography, and keeping up to date on the latest design technologies.
